My name is Carolyn Scott Haslam.  I am about ONE main thing: KNOWING JESUS as He presented Himself in the Gospels, & SHARING HIS LOVE.   I am not going to tell you my theological position, my political position, or anything else that can cause arguments and divisions. I don't judge anyone by their denomination, race, socio-economic status, political position, level of education, or your years in ministry.  I care about whether or not you love Jesus, and if you want to share His love with others.

The Bible is clear: Salvation cannot be earned by anyone except Jesus. We are adopted into God's family by exercising faith in Jesus. And, we grow by obeying him through works.   Beyond that, there is a lot to debate.  So, I'd rather not.

Instead, I'd like to work with Christ followers across Philly to reach the 1.7 million people of our city with Jesus' love.

But for those who need a little info on me before checking out a collaboration Philly meeting, here you go:

  • I gave my life to Jesus at 16 years old.

  • I graduated both Villanova University and Westminster Seminary

COLLABORATION PHILADELPHIA

The Founder

  • I spent 15 years in Youth Ministry, volunteer and staff, parachurch and church, suburban and urban.

  • I've been on the worship team in each of my churches for 20 years and counting

  • I've been on 2 church planting teams

  • I am a cofounder and still sit on the Executive Board of The Philadelphia Gospel Movement

  • I've lead bible studies, Celebrate Recovery and trained leaders

  • My core brain function is strategy.  Its been applied in various industries including health & fitness, business development, marketing and advertising.  I am currently freelancing,  If your church, non profit or organization is seeking growth strategy, or communications strategy, I AM for hire!  You can visit my website here

As this ministry grows, it will not be run solely by me.  In fact, IF YOU are reading this, and you are a professional counselor or life coach, or are in a management role where you have successfully managed strategic meetings, then please Read here about what it means to be a group facilitator.

Ultimately, I'm asking for a little trust.  That's a hard thing to earn from Philadelphians, but here's what I can promise:

1. You can trust my commitment to the authority of Scripture, no matter what your denomination.

My core commitment is to Jesus, not to denomination.  I study and love the scriptures, and aim to interpret them holistically.  And, I am convinced that the BLOOD OF JESUS IS POWERFUL ENOUGH not only to cover our sin, but to also to cover whatever err we have in our theology.  For, I"m pretty certain that all of us will realize that we didn't get it ALL right, when we stand before Him.

2.  You can trust me with your leaders.

I'm not going to lecture or teach.   My role is to provide a strategic environment for leaders in each "niche ministry" to build trusting relationships, and to facilitate discussions and workshops so that they can help each other grow, and eventually collaborate.

Finally, this work is not just me.  I've been placing myself under the counsel of many who are far more experienced than myself, and I am strategically bringing others with "the gifts of consulting" or "counseling"  to help run these leaders meetings.  As people commit, and more niche ministry leaders' groups are launched, I'll expand the persons on this website, but for now, I'll let the scrutiny fall solely on me.
