COLLABORATION PHILADELPHIA

MINISTRY LEADERS GROUPS

What if someone gathered all the Leaders of Homeless Ministries from across Philadelphia, and hosted a meeting where they could build trusted relationships, talk best practices, share failures and successes, and learn from one another?  

 

And, what if another gathering was hosted for Youth Min Leaders ... and another for Addictions Ministry Leaders ... and another for Ministry Leaders serving Veterans...  

 

And what if these meetings were not "taught" by anyone, but rather, the facilitator asked strategic questions to get the leaders talking, sharing, discussing issues that face their target group in our particular city, and dreaming about what they could do together (with pooled people and resources) that each could never do alone. 

​

And, what if, when these leaders began dreaming together, the organizer was able to help them create a plan of action so that they could actually start DO-ing together instead of just dreaming?  And what if the organizer could also help them with PR, Marketing, and connecting with civic and government entities, and other 'Christian workplace affinity groups'?

​

Can you imagine the impact that working together as a single body of Christ in that target area could have?

What is YOUR CHURCH Already Doing?

If someone from your church staff fills out the COLLABORATION PHILLY CHURCH SURVEY then we can invite the point person for each of your ministries to attend the relevant Niche Ministry Groups as they launch.  

We're not telling your church to start something new.  

Rather, we want to SUPPORT YOUR LEADERS IN WHAT THEY ARE ALREADY DOING!

It IS a place for building relationships with people who share a passion for the same area of ministry.  Here, they are working with 'the same' population, speaking the same language, and facing the same issues.
​
It IS a place to PRAY for the population you're jointly serving with the other leaders in the group. This is a particularly powerful moment of SPIRITUAL BATTLE to join together for this task!
​
It IS a place for facilitated THINK TANK Discussion​  The format is designed to get YOU talking, sharing, and thinking through the issues that face you. 
​
It IS a place for CHEERING!
As brothers and sisters in Christ, who share an area of passion, we can CHEER for each other when we experience wins, and empathize with each other when we're in pain.  Ministry is full of both, and who will better understand the "small wins" that make your heart sing and keep you in this fight, than those who 'get it' - for whom those same small wins keep them going too?

It IS a NEUTRAL GROUND: Having an "outsider" or non-ministry leader run the discussion creates a place where no one church or organization receives preferential treatment.
​
It IS a place for Collaborating.  As relationships are formed, and discussions are facilitated, dreams are bound to emerge and collabs established to do things together that cannot be done alone. 

What a Niche Ministry Meeting

Tell us what your church is already doing, and we'll contact you when appropriate ministry groups launch!

it is NOT a leadership training seminar
Though, your leaders will probably grow from getting involved

It is NOT a place to send all your volunteers from a particular niche.  
It is for the leader of that niche. 
​
It is NOT a one time meeting
The group will decide how often they'd like to meet: quarterly, bi-monthly or monthly.  This is ongoing. 
​
It is NOT a time to brag, preach, or debate
In a room full of other leaders, committed to Jesus, we will exchange bragging for celebrating each others wins, exchange preaching for a sharing of hearts, and exchange debate about theology (etc) for agreement that the love of Jesus is ultimately what EVERYTHING is about. 
​
It is NOT a "here's how WE did it, and now we'll tell you how it will work for you to do it our way" seminar
Anyone who comes to Philly with THAT attitude needs to turn around and go home!  Philly is NOT like anywhere else.  No book and "tool kit" will give our leaders what they need to do good ministry work here. This is an interactive setting for leaders to 'figure things out' together - old and young, cautious and energetic, all races, all leaders - together.
