COLLABORATION PHILADELPHIA

Can you imagine what could happen if Christians from many churches joined together to execute service projects in their neighborhood?  

 

Or what if dozens of leaders of ministries in the same category (like homeless ministry, or youth ministry, or refugee care) joined together to address the issues of their particular target group?

Or what if there were Christians who gathered together based on their career/job category to talk about what it means to live as a Christ follower in that setting?  And what if they started thinking about how they could contribute their particular skill-sets to growing the kingdom of Jesus and sharing His love instead of just paying the bills?

This is what Collaboration Philly is about 

WHAT DOES COLLABORATION PHILLY DO?

Affinity Groups

For Those Who Lead Ministries

Niche Ministry Groups bring together ministry leaders serving a shared segment, to :  

  • Build trusted relationships with people who deeply understand  their struggles and joys in working with and loving their shared people group

  • Pray for the people within their  arena of ministry

  • Participate in strategically guided discussions

  • Start Dreaming Together about what they could do together that they could never accomplish alone.  As they join forces, not only will they share volunteers and resources, but even more volunteers and resources can be acquired because of collaborative work

Workplace

Affinity Groups

For Christians Who Want to Connect their Faith to their Work

Most Christians are not employed by Church or Christian Ministry Organization.  Each Affinity Group will be for o particular industry, so that people can speak the same language and help each other think through what it is to be a Christ follower when faced with the joys and struggles of their  particular workplace setting.

Each group will eventually be challenged to think about how to use their workplace skills , to serve "the Kingdom". For Example  if the Homeless Ministry Leaders identified a building to rehab in order to open a family shelter, then Collab Philly can bring relevant workplace groups to the table, like the Legal Group, the Construction Trades Group, and the Education Group.  Soon there are groups and churches volunteering their work skills to execute Kingdom Work.

and others across Philadelphia

Across Philadelphia, there are groups of churches whose leaders are starting to cross denominational and racial lines in order to get to know each other, and consider how they can take action TOGETHER to serve their shared neighborhoods. Collab Philly will serve these church groups as well as our affinity groups when they are ready to take action:  

  • We've designed a step by step "Guide to Running a Collaborative Project" that groups can use to break their vision into goals, steps and assigned tasks. 

  • We'll act as a project "consultant" to assist the group in its collaborative execution

  • We'll launch a website to promote the collaborative projects so that anyone can find service opportunities that excite them! 

  • We will network with government agencies, possible financiers, other ministry affinity groups, and secular non profits, to further the success of collaborative projects. 

What is YOUR CHURCH Already Doing?

If someone from your church staff fills out the COLLABORATION PHILLY CHURCH SURVEY then we can invite the point person for each of your ministries to attend the relevant Niche Ministry Groups as they launch.  

We're not telling your church to start something new.  

Rather, we want to SUPPORT YOUR LEADERS IN WHAT THEY ARE ALREADY DOING!

We do NOT push an agenda for any given Niche Ministry
We do NOT run your ministry for you.    
We do NOT share your contact information with ANYONE ... Y'all can share that yourselves ... if you build relationships.

    • We're NOT about denomination ...or race, or age, orpolitical affiliation, etc.

  • We're about Kingdom work

    • We're NOT about promoting any one person or organization's agenda​

  • We're about reaching and serving the City of Philadelphia 

    • At this time, we're not about reaching the suburbs.  We may expand in that direction in the future, but at this time, we feel very "called" to minister in Philadelphia proper.

  • We're about helping leaders in the same 'niche ministries' (or people in the same workplace arena) think things through together,

    • ​We're NOT about starting new ministries

  • We're about Setting Up Your Leaders for Success and Collaboration​​

    • We're NOT about telling anyone what to do or how to do it.  

​

  • We're ABOUT working with the LEADER of each of your "niche ministries" (staff or volunteer). 

    • We're NOT about personally developing your entire volunteer team. â€‹

    • However, we ARE about adding to your volunteer team!  Our marketing efforts on behalf of each niche group can result in new volunteers from your neighborhood and from across the city.
